Living with contrasts

Several times in life we see a very big contrast in so many things i.e. when we want to be recognized no one cares & knows us and when almost everyone knows us, we hide ourselves. I've been trying to understand it for a long time now. I see nothing except the paradox that there is no more love until it hurts.

We seldom notice the facts behind a dream and reality. A dream takes us in a visionary world which is adorable and heavenly. I've hardly encountered anybody who is not beguiled by this opulent planet of mind and heart. Some people call it oblivion. Whatever you call it, it's the only world where you can be by yourself. Here you can meditate, play, sing, paint, enact, teach, preach, lead, follow, order, surrender, love, hate, admire, criticize, live and die the way you want, like and recommend. Once you're out of it, you're in the real world. The reality is completely different than the dream. It conforms your existence. It sets values for you. It's a guiding force that infuses life into you to do more, to adjust, to compromise, to forgive and forget. It educates you of evils and righteousness of the world. It allows you to oblige.

Reality contrastingly interlinks with dreams. If you don't face reality, you can't dream and if you can't dream then you can't face reality. Smart people take advantage of both. They know how to fusion both the opposites. Sometimes they hide reality under a dream and dream under a reality. They can wear masks. There is difference between masking yourself to cheat on others and self. People mask themselves to fool others, but you'll be astonished to learn that when they uncover themselves, they always find themselves under a mask without being under one. They fear of themselves. They tremble to face reality. This happens because of the fact that once one is in visionary world (let's say the heaven), if you pull him/her back on the earth; would s/he not panic?

We very often forget that ignorance is bliss. We all have continuously been learning from the day we're born. We have not found the end of learning. It's unfathomable, unconquerable and alive cosmos. We are exposed to millions of new things everyday. If we take only one of them and claim that we know it all by all means, we can be questioned so nicely that we wouldn't even know the alphabets of it. Almost all learned people quote that the more they learn the more ignorant and humble they find themselves. How much paradoxical does it sound to us?

Saint Kabir reveals in one of his most popular couplets that when he was there (present) God was not there. When he has found God, he is not there. He has lost so much into search of God that he can see nothing but God.

Have you ever been lucky enough to see the love blended anger of mother? She may be angry for so many reasons, probably she wants you to set on the right path, she wants to save you from the calamities she could foresee because of your behaviour, she likes you to be a better person always and therefore she will show her anger knowingly that her love would make you a little lazy and easy going. She also may fear that if she keeps showering her love on you, you might just not be able to withstand with the harsh realities of the world out of her lap. She also may be afraid of the fact that your character may prove feeble. You may become a person who would always need a protector and wouldn't be able to walk by self. She knows that her rebuking can make you a little more caretaker of the self. She fundamentally wants to see you an independent person. The one who can win over the world. The one who can make her proud by great deeds. The one who can support the needy. Needless to say that there is a contrast in what she says or shows to what she really means.

The wisest among us is the one who can foresee a better opportunities in every twisting and contrasting tale and fact. The one who can manage, lead and bridge the differences. The one who can see a similarity in every paradox instead of seeing a contrast in similarity.  The one who can chew and digest the blend of all possible contrasts; s/he will certainly be a better person tomorrow.

Thanks & Regards, Som
